Inis Crafts

Inis Crafts was born in the village of Monasterevin, in the county of Kildare, Ireland. Inis Crafts was originally established by Molly Cullen in 1957. Her dream was to create a family-run knitwear company whose heritage stretched back for over 100 years.

Indeed, Molly is the granddaughter of Kate O’Shea, a brilliant woman who, in 1856, was the first craftswoman in Ireland to commercially market her robust, hand knitted woollens. Molly’s family is today the present owner of the company. They pride themselves in offering the best Irish knitwear that flourished with time within the Cullen family.

From the first woollens knitted by Kate O’Shea, Inis Craft grew to become the biggest knitwear manufacturer in Ireland. Their skilled and experienced workforce teams up in the largest Aran sweater and cardigan producer in the world.

The company is conscious of its roots in Irish tradition but keep a focus on the future, taking pride in its innovative designs and styles.

Their garments are also manufactured for those engaged in a rugged, outdoor life, recalling the first function of Aran sweaters, specifically designed to protect the islanders from the Atlantic storms and sea.
