Nine Leaves 2020 5 Year Old is a handcrafted Japanese rum showcasing the unique expertise of Nine Leaves Distillery, founded by Yoshiharu Takeuchi in Shiga Prefecture. Distilled in 2020 from carefully selected molasses, it matured for five years before being bottled at its natural cask strength of 59% ABV. Produced in limited quantities, this expression highlights the purity of the distillate with an intense yet remarkably balanced character.
The nose reveals tropical fruits, ripe pear, honey, vanilla and cane sugar, complemented by cocoa and toasted oak. The palate is rich and silky with flavours of roasted pineapple, caramel, apricot, toasted nuts, dark chocolate and gentle spices. The finish is long, warming and elegant with lingering ripe fruit, vanilla, cocoa and refined oak.
