Nine Leaves 2020 5 Year Old PX Cask is a handcrafted Japanese rum released in limited quantities by Nine Leaves Distillery, founded by Yoshiharu Takeuchi in Shiga Prefecture. Distilled in 2020 from premium molasses, it matured for five years before receiving a finishing period in a Pedro Ximénez sherry cask. This maturation adds exceptional richness, combining the sweetness of PX sherry with the purity of the Japanese distillate. Bottled at its natural cask strength of 60% ABV, it delivers an intense and complex tasting experience.
The nose reveals aromas of raisins, figs, dates, caramel, cocoa and vanilla, enhanced by hints of candied orange and toasted oak. The palate is rich, oily and powerful with flavours of dark fruits, chocolate, honey, walnuts, light coffee and gentle spices. The finish is long, warming and elegant with lingering notes of dried fruits, cocoa and refined oak.
