Port Charlotte PC8 70cl 60.5°
Reference: 21843
A cask strength peated Islay single malt with smoke, citrus, vanilla, honey, maritime notes and warming spices.
Port Charlotte PC8 Ar Duthchas is a heavily peated single malt produced by Bruichladdich Distillery on the Isle of Islay. Its Gaelic name, meaning "our heritage", pays tribute to the island's traditional whisky-making style. This early release in the Port Charlotte series is crafted from whisky distilled in 2001, matured mainly in first-fill bourbon barrels with a proportion of sherry casks. Bottled at its natural cask strength of 60.5%, without chill filtration or added colouring, it showcases the full character of Islay.
The nose offers powerful peat smoke alongside candied lemon, green apple, vanilla, sea spray and gentle spices. The palate is rich and oily with flavours of peat, citrus, honey, malted barley, black pepper and toasted oak. The finish is exceptionally long and intense with lingering smoke, maritime freshness, spices and charred oak. It is a bold Islay whisky that perfectly captures Port Charlotte's distinctive style.
