Togouchi Rum Cask Finish is a Japanese whisky that combines Togouchi's elegant style with the distinctive character of a rum cask finish. Produced by Sakurao Distillery, it matures in the former Togouchi railway tunnel, where naturally cool and stable conditions encourage slow ageing. After its initial maturation in oak casks, the whisky is finished in rum casks, adding tropical richness and sweet complexity. Bottled at 43% ABV, it offers a refined balance of freshness, sweetness and oak.
The nose reveals ripe banana, vanilla, coconut, honey and pineapple, supported by hints of caramel and toasted oak. The palate is smooth and generous with flavours of tropical fruits, brown sugar, candied citrus, gentle spices and white chocolate. The finish is long, elegant and delicately woody with lingering vanilla, exotic fruit and caramel.
