Fresh and fruity Scottish Single Malt, matured in Bourbon casks and virgin American oak, with rich vanilla, dark fruit and gentle spice.
Glasgow 1770 The Original is the flagship Single Malt from The Glasgow Distillery Company. It represents the distillery’s signature style and plays a role in the revival of whisky production in the city of Glasgow.
Made from unpeated malted barley and pure Scottish water sourced from Loch Katrine, this whisky is double distilled in small copper pot stills. This production method creates an expressive spirit with a strong fruit driven character and an appealing texture.
Its maturation begins in first fill Bourbon casks before a finishing period of around six months in fresh virgin American white oak. This double maturation brings together rich vanilla, ripe fruit and warming oak spice.

Nose: The nose reveals dried dark fruits with subtle tropical undertones. Hints of biscuit, oak and freshly cut grass gradually appear.
Palate: The palate is sweet and indulgent, with buttery toffee and a gentle toasted sweetness. Fresh pear, figs, dates and raisins combine with honey, sweet almond and creamy shortbread.
Finish: The finish is long and warming. Orange marmalade gives way to nutmeg, oak and a delicate spicy character.
