Spitfire 50cl 4.2°
Spitfire is a Shepherd Neame Bitter Ale brewed with 100% Kentish hops and water from a deep well beneath the brewery. It is one of the UK's best-loved beers and is known internationally as the Great British Classic.
It is a rather bitter amber ale with notes of cereals, caramel and citrus fruits reminiscent of orange marmalade.
First brewed as a limited edition in 1990 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Battle of Britain (hence the name, which refers to the Spitfire warplanes), this beer has been a great success ever since. It has been awarded a Royal Warrant and a protected designation of origin as Ale Kentish.
Today, Spitfire has a new look that highlights the iconic aircraft that inspired its creation, and perfectly matches its status as a beer of substance and character.
