This Bunnahabhain Staoisha 2014 of our Ink#1 S.V. range is a limited edition of 295 bottles, selected by our experts exclusively for Le Comptoir Irlandais.

The Bunnahabhain distillery has a unique, light and delicate style and seeks to offer a product and aged whisky on the island of Islay as natural as possible. Known for the great roundness of his whisky, Bunnahabhain still returns to his story by producing limited editions of very peaty whiskies like this special version Staoisha.

"Staoisha" is usually offered by independent bottlers for "heavilypeated".

Bunnahabhain Staoisha 2014 Ink S.V. is a young and lively Single Cask #10719, distilled in 2014 and bottled in 2019. The whisky has undergone a short aging in barrel to limit the influence of wood and let the peat present. Very peaty, the barrel Hogshead was "dechar" and "rechar" for an exceptional result. This whisky was directly bottled from the barrel, cask strength without cold filtration and without dye.

Colour: light amber.

Nose: earthy peat, sweet and oily... reminiscent of heavyweight Islay.

Palate: simple and frank - peat and a beautiful texture that covers the entire mouth. The bottling voluntarily very young and cask strength, lets fully express the powerfully peated. The whole remains surprisingly round and pleasant in the mouth, without any aggressiveness.

Finish: oily, slightly iodized, and always earthy. A whisky nature, frank and finally very playful.
