Aberfeldy 18 Years Old 70cl 43°

Archive Aberfeldy 18 ans 70cl 46°

Distillery : Aberfeldy / Country : Scotland / Reference: : 24157

A limited edition exclusively at Le Comptoir Irlandais.

The Aberfeldy Distillery launches a new limited edition of Single Malt, this 18-year-old whiskey aged in different Bourbon refill barrels before spending 4 to 5 months in barrels of Pauilliac wine, a complex Bordeaux.

This wine was chosen because it is robust, and Stephanie McLeod, the Malt Master, wanted it to complement and elevate the Single Malt signature without obscuring it.

The result is a whiskey with notes of red fruits, cedarwood to which we add the sweet Aberfeldy signature of honey notes and the vanilla is invigorated with touches of mellow ripe fruit and nutty aromas.

The Aberfeldy distillery is located in the southern part of the Highlands (Perthshire).

Aberfeldy was founded in 1898 by the Dewar family, and is located in the Highland region. The distillery uses water from Pitilie Burn which is famous for its alluvial gold deposits.

Aberfeldy proceeds to a long fermentation of 70 hours allowing a greater development of the aromas, in particular that of honey. In addition, the use of large copper stills with their specific heights and shapes gives the whiskey its delicate and elegant character.

The Aberfeldy whiskey is very firm and reveals ample notes of cereals and fruit. This is the most potent of the Central Highlands malts.
