The Sasanokawa Shuko distillery was created in 1765 in Koriyama next to the Inawashiro lake in the Fukushima region in Japan.


In 1946, the company gets its licence to produce whisky. Yamazakura is new, its a luxury brand with limited editions.

Products from Sasanokawa Shuzo

Nose: both sweet and complex, with aromas of yellow fruits, honey and vanilla.

Mouth: notes of candied orange, brioche and vanilla.

Finish: persistent, marked by cereals and dried fruits.

Winner of the no age statement Japanese Single Cask Single Malt category, World Whiskies Awards 2022.
