Spear is an Imperial Oatmeal Stout brewed by the Irish craft brewery Lough Gill Brewery, located near Sligo. This robust beer is brewed in the Imperial Stout tradition and matured in barrels that previously held Irish whiskey, allowing additional depth to develop during ageing.
Roasted malts and the addition of oats contribute to a rich, smooth body. Barrel maturation introduces gentle oak and spirit-derived nuances that complement the stout’s natural notes of cocoa, coffee and toasted grains.
