Following British tradition, the papillotes are placed on everyone's plate. During the meal, the guests form a circle and trigger the firecrackers contained in the foil by pulling on the ends.

The papillotes each contain a fancy item (mini notepad, thimble, key ring, paper clip, compass, magnifying glass, label holder, yoyo etc.), a hat, a currency and a firecracker.
