Germany in brief

Germany is a federal state headed by a Chancellor and made up of 16 relatively independent Länder (states). It is the first European economic power and the second world exporter (with a relatively powerful industrial sector) but also the most populous country in the EU.

Famous internationally for its major car brands Volkswagen, Mercedes, Audi and BMW, Germany is just as famous for its beers, especially during Oktoberfest, celebrated with dignity every year in Munich since the wedding of Crown Prince Ludwig of Bavaria and Princess Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen in 1810. A tradition that still has many years ahead of it!
