The best of Ireland in the United Kingdom

United Kingdom

Ireland just one click away

Following Brexit, it is sometimes difficult to obtain certain products in the United Kingdom. Time for Le Comptoir Irlandais to step in! Find a wide selection of fine food products in our online store, including many teas, biscuits and marmalades, or a range of savoury products.

Our cellar will reveal its many rums, gins, beers, champagnes, but also and above all the thousand references of whiskeys it contains...

The presentation wouldn't be complete without our women's and men's clothing section, where you'll find duffle coats, Aran sweaters, throws, accessories and much more. And don't forget to browse the homeware universe to stock up on gift ideas... It's up to you!

Good to know: Le Comptoir Irlandais is based in France. Our deliveries are made from Brittany in France for shipments within the European Union with payment in euros.

The United Kingdom at Le Comptoir Irlandais

Le Comptoir Irlandais is full of British products... Take a trip to the fine food section to find the best-sellers, such as Border biscuits (number one in the United Kingdom), the famous Whittard of Chelsea teas or even Mr Filbert's snacks, without forget the internationally recognized jams and marmalades of the Scottish brand Mackays.

The United Kingdom is also famous for its Scotch whiskies, but also for its distilleries: Penderyn, the only Welsh distillery still in operation, or Bushmills, the last in operation in Northern Ireland and the oldest in the world.

Finally, the textile sector is not to be outdone with brands whose reputation is well established: Barbour, English manufacturer of waxed cotton jackets since 1894, or London Tradition, internationally renowned for its duffle coats.

The United Kingdom in brief

The United Kingdom is a parliamentary monarchy. It is divided into four nations: England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Queen Elizabeth II, at the head of the country from 1952 to 2022, was an emblematic figure of the country. Proof is the national anthem, "God Save the Queen", which resounds during the many rugby and football competitions and which have made the country famous.

Also famous for its writers like Roald Dahl, J.R.R. Tolkien or JK Rowling, the United Kingdom has also marked the history of cinema with directors such as Alfred Hitchcock and Charlie Chaplin (to name a few), or again thanks to emblematic films, in particular the James Bond series.

And what about the multiple landscapes that make up all the beauty and diversity of the United Kingdom! Whether you go through the Scottish Highlands, Mount Snowdon in Wales or the famous English capital, each region has its share of surprises and discoveries in store...
