Reference: 393499
A 50-year-old Glenfiddich Second Release limited to 500 bottles with candied fruit, honey, cocoa and refined oak notes.
Glenfiddich 50 Year Old Second Release is one of the most prestigious whiskies ever produced by Glenfiddich Distillery. Released in 2009, this second edition was created from an exceptional marriage of whiskies distilled between 1955 and 1957, matured for half a century in some of the distillery's finest casks. After an extended marrying period, it was bottled at 46.1% ABV to preserve its remarkable balance and complexity. Limited to only 500 individually numbered bottles, with just 50 released each year over a decade, it ranks among the world's most collectible official bottlings.
Each bottle is hand-blown and presented in a handcrafted black leather case featuring Scottish silver detailing, a metal lock and an individually numbered certificate of authenticity. Both an exceptional whisky and a work of art, this release has become one of the icons of collectible Scotch whisky.
The nose reveals extraordinary aromas of candied fruits, figs, dates, heather honey, orange marmalade, beeswax and vanilla, complemented by leather, walnuts, dark chocolate and mature oak. The palate is rich, silky and perfectly balanced with caramel, dried fruits, coffee, cocoa, elegant spices and polished oak. The finish is exceptionally long and refined with lingering mature fruit, dark chocolate, gentle spices and precious oak.
