Aberfeldy 15 Years Old Pomerol Finish 70cl 43°
This limited edition Aberfledy expression comes from a 15 years aging in a combination of second fill Bourbon casks.
The whisky is then matured for 5 months in French red wine barrels, the Pomerol, a robust wine with intense notes of violets, ripe cherries and red fruits.
The choice of barrels of a powerful wine such as Pomerol complements and enhances the Aberfeldy signature, not obscures it.
The result is an accessible whisky with a rich and fruity profile with sweet notes of honey and vanilla.
|Maturation||Bourbon & French wine|
The Aberfeldy distillery is located in the southern part of the Highlands (Perthshire).
Aberfeldy was founded in 1898 by the Dewar family, and is located in the Highland region. The distillery uses water from Pitilie Burn which is famous for its alluvial gold deposits.
Aberfeldy proceeds to a long fermentation of 70 hours allowing a greater development of the aromas, in particular that of honey. In addition, the use of large copper stills with their specific heights and shapes gives the whiskey its delicate and elegant character.
The Aberfeldy whiskey is very firm and reveals ample notes of cereals and fruit. This is the most potent of the Central Highlands malts.
