Drumshanbo Single Pot Still 70cl 43°

Distillery : The Shed / Country : Ireland / Reference: : 25461

This Single Pot Still is the very first whiskey from the Irish distillery The Shed, known for its gins with Irish and oriental influences.

Made from malted and unmalted Irish barley and Barra oats, it is then aged in Oloroso Sherry and Bourbon casks.

The result is a smooth and spicy whiskey, very promising for the young distillery.

Over the years, PJ Rigney has traveled extensively from his family lands in Ireland to distant lands in the East. These trips brought him back to the wild and unspoiled lands of County Leitrim in Ireland at Drumshanbo. It is in this small town that Rigney begins to manipulate the oriental traditions of the distillation of fruits, herbs and aromatic plants.

PJ Rigney created The Shed distillery in 2014. To distill his gin, he uses medieval copper stills and fuses his oriental botanicals discovered during his travels with herbs from Irish lands.

Nose: opulent and surprising, with a nice balance between spices, vanilla and dried fruits.

Palate: complex, the notes of the nose marry perfectly with those of fig, Oloroso and toasted oak which are added during the tasting.

Finish: delicate, long and creamy.
