Teeling Single Malt 70cl 46°

Best pick Teeling Single Malt 70cl 46°
Distillery : TWC / Country : Ireland / Reference: : 22688

Teeling Single Malt is the third Irish whiskey of the Premium range of Teeling expressions. It is a blend of various ages of whiskeys from a single distillery, made from 100% malted barley. In this expression, whiskeys distilled as far back as 1991 can be found.

The richness and perfect balance of this expression come from whiskeys matured in five different types of oak barrels: Sherry, Porto, Madeira, white Burgundy and Cabernet Sauvignon. This amazing combination accounts for the delicate aromas and softness of this Irish Whiskey.

Teeling Single Malt has been bottled with no chill filtration, at 46%, which helps to retain all the flavours of the whisky.

In 2019, Teeling Single Malt was awarded a silver medal in the category for Best NAS (no age statement) Irish Single Malt at the World Whiskies Awards in 2019.

TWC is an independent distillery founded by Jack and Stephen Teeling, John’s son, who established the Cooley distillery in 1987.

The Teeling family has been crafting Irish whiskey since 1782, date on which Walter Teeling founded one of the 38 Dubnlin distilleries in Marrowbone Lane in the area of Liberties. This is also in this area, at the heart of Dublin, this Jack and Stephen Teeling opened their own distillery, more than 200 years after their ancestor.

Unlike other Irish distilleries triple-distilling their whiskey, this new distillery distils only twice (pot still) just like the Cooley distillery. It is the only distillery to produce pot still whiskey in all of Dublin. Moreover, Teeling likes varying the whiskey finishes, imparting a real gourmet edge to the traditional Irish character.

Colour: shimmering gold.

Nose: vibrant with notes of melon, figs, toffee and lemon.

Palate: a balanced mix of dried fruits, citrus, vanilla, spices, ginger and cloves. The aromatic palette evolves towards slightly bitter chocolate notes, quince and a spark of smoke reminiscent of toasted wood. A dash of water unleashes juicy tropical fruits such as mango or pinneaple, and red fruits scents.

Finish: long with sweetness in harmony with the dry tannins of the wood.
