Ardbeg Kelpie 70cl 46° - Limited Edition 2017

The famous Islay distillery launches, for its Ardbeg Day 2017, this Ardbeg Kelpie Single Malt, a peated whisky as deep as the surrounding ocean.

With this new limited edition, Ardbeg reminds us how close they are with the ocean, with the warehouse and casks soaked with the iodine freshness of sea breeze, and the waves crashing on its harbour. According to the local legend, Kelpie is a figure to the misterious water creatures living on Islay shores, they are represented in the shape of horses or bulls with seaweed and kelp hair.

After Dark Cove and Auriverdes editions, this peated Single Malt is non chill-filtered, and for the first time, matured in new oak casks, made with oak trees from the Black Sea area. This special wood brings a remarkable depth that matches perfectly with Ardbeg's specific notes brought by american oak barrels to get this Ardbeg Kelpie limited edition.

Ardbeg Kelpie, has a brownish golden colour, with oily peated aromas, dark chocolate and smoked salmon.
