Ardbeg Grooves 70cl 46° - Limited Edition 2018

This whisky was awarded with a bronze medal, category Best Single Malt Scotch whiskies No Age statement (NAS) at the World Whiskies Awards 2019.

The name of the limited edition Ardbeg Grooves refers to the new experiment initiated by the Master Distiller Dr. Bill Lumsden.

This new Single Malt is the result of a blend containing uniquely matured whisky. Ardbeg's experts relied on casks containing red wine to which intense toasting was applied to form grooves on the surface of the wood. This method brought more intense flavours of smoked spices, wood fires, vanilla popcorn and spicy meats.

These aromas come together during the tasting with powerful and round notes of smoked apples and pears and rich flavours of soft caramel, cinnamon, and pine wood.

This 2018 limited edition is very peaty, non-chill filtered and is bottled at 46% abv.
