Chichibu Paris Edition 2023 70cl 49.5°
Designed by Ichiro Akuta, founder of the Japanese distillery Chichibu, this Single Malt pays homage to Parisian department stores and their very particular architecture, symbols of the great innovations in the world of commerce during the second half of the 19th century.
This Paris Edition 2023 is born from a blend of Chichibu (some of which are peated) aged in bourbon barrels, in quarter casks (chibidaru) and in hogsheads.
This Chichibu stands out for its intense depth and its perfect balance between elegant peat and fresh, spicy and fruity notes.
5 different labels are offered, each representing a historic Parisian store.

Chichibu distillery, located in Saitama prefecture, north of Tokyo, is owned by Venture Whisky, a Japanese whisky producer under the Ichiro’s Malt brand.
In 2007, Ichiro Akuto, the grandson of the founder of the Hanyu distillery, started a new chapter in Japan's whisky history by building Chichibu distillery.
Situated about 70km north-west of Tokyo, production began in February 2008.
The equipment includes a small mill, a mash tun, washbacks made of Jpanese oak (mizunara) and a pair of small copper stills manufactured by Forsyths of Rothes, Scotland.
Several different casks types are used, including Bourbon barrels, Sherry butts and Hogsheads, all matured in a traditional Dunnage style warehouse.
Enhanced by their environment, Chichibu whiskies are non-chill filtered and not coloured.
