Coloma 8 Years Old 70cl 40°
The story of the Constain family, who produces Ron Coloma, is deeply intertwined with the story of Hacienda Coloma, a large estate built in the heart of Colombia. In 1959, the Colombian governement prohibited alcohol distillation and rum production. But, as a true passionate of spirits, Don Alberto hopes one day he will create the finest rum, distilled from fresh sugarcane juice and aged at Hacienda Coloma.
A few years after the death of Don Alberto in 2005, the Colombian government relaxed the rules on spirit production. Alberto Constain Cenzano, son of Don Alberto, launched his first premium Colombian coffee liqueur with two Maestras Roneras and began also the production of Ron Coloma, a Spanish style rum with a very Colombian character.
Distilled from two carefully selected sugarcane varieties, Ron Coloma has been refined for 8 years in American oak casks. When fully matured, the rhum is reduced with spring water in old coffee filters of the Hacienda Coloma, which accounts for its typicity: a long finish and strong organoleptic personnality. The spirit is then left to rest for 6 weeks before bottling.
