Yamazaki Peated Malt is distinguished by its rare use of peated barley, a unique feature of the Yamazaki distillery. Located a few kilometers from Tokyo, at the foot of Mount Tenno and at the confluence of the Katsura, Uji, and Kizu rivers, the distillery benefits from clean air, a humid climate, and extremely pure water—ideal conditions that founder Shinjiro Tori chose in 1923 to realize his dream of making whisky.

Yamazaki, owned by the Suntory Group, made its mark on the world stage in 2014 by dethroning Scotch whiskies in the ranking of the world's best whiskies. The distillery has developed a wide range of aromatic profiles thanks to aging in bourbon, sherry, puncheon, and Japanese oak (mizunara) barrels, as well as peated versions.

This edition is part of the Tsukuriwake Selection 2022 and perfectly illustrates Yamazaki's diversity and expertise, offering a complex and balanced whiskey where peat blends harmoniously with the subtle aromas of malt and Japanese wood.
