This whisky takes its name, Tidal Churn, from the powerful influence of the tides on Skye, and fully embodies the bold, maritime spirit of Talisker.
This Talisker 8yo is described as intensely saline and smoky, with peaty notes and enhanced marine aromas. Expect flavors of salt, black pepper and smoke, balanced by hints of fruity sweetness and vanilla.
For this special edition, the whisky has been aged in American oak casks, bringing woody notes and vanilla sweetness to this young but intense single malt.
Bottled at a higher alcohol level to retain its raw power, Tidal Churn is aimed at lovers of maritime and peaty whiskies. It is a limited edition, making it a popular choice for collectors and those wishing to explore the wilder aspects of the Talisker style.
The Special Release series allows Diageo to experiment with unique aging and aromatic profiles, making each bottling worth discovering, especially for lovers of whiskies with strong character.

A few miles away from the west coast of the Highlands sits the Isle of Skye, with its rugged coastline and windswept peat lands.

The small coastal town of Carboast, on the shores of Loch Harport and on the foothills of the Cuillins,  is nestled in a region battered by the winds and sea breeze, Talisker. This is where the only one distillery of the island chose to settle – one of the most prestigious and isolated of all.

Back in 1825, Hugh and Kenneth Mac Askill decided to establish themselves on the Isle of Skye. They quickly grew fond of their adoptive region, and rented a plot in Carbost to build, in 1830, the Talisker distillery. Laden with salt, lava and peat, the distillery bottles exceptional Single Malts, known for their spicy, powerful character.

Because of the unique character and quality of Talisker whiskies, the distillery features in the Classic Malts Selection. Created more than 20 years ago, this selection recognises Single Malts crafted in the tradition of iconic distilleries, and offers the most impressive whisky styles Scotland has to offer.

Nose: Marine, smoky, peaty notes. Fresh fruit, citrus and pear, with hints of vanilla and oak.

Palate: Powerful, spicy, peppery attack. Salt and peat blend harmoniously, adding depth. Notes of caramel, honey and dried fruit, between sweetness and intensity.

Finish:Long and persistent, smoky and salty. Spicy notes fade slowly.
