Glasgow 1770 Peated is a Scottish Single Malt produced by The Glasgow Distillery Company in the heart of Glasgow. It belongs to the Signature Range and represents one of the distillery’s three flagship expressions.
Made from malted barley peated to 50 ppm, the whisky is double distilled in traditional copper pot stills. The distillation process and relatively low cut points help retain a rich, oily and expressive spirit.
Its maturation begins in virgin American white oak before being finished for several months in Pedro Ximénez sherry hogsheads. This combination creates an appealing balance between sweet peat smoke, rich sherry influence and fruit driven oak character.

Nose : Sweet and generous smoke develops alongside rich toffee, vanilla and dried dark fruit. A touch of black pepper and gently flamed orange adds definition.
Palate : Deeper flavours of tobacco, dark caramel and cacao nibs emerge, wrapped in soft peat with subtle earthy nuances. Hints of sage gradually add a delicate herbal dimension.
Finish : A long and warming finish brings salted caramel, liquorice and lingering spice. Gentle smoke remains in the background, carrying the fruity character through to the end.
