Loch Lomond 12 Years Old Inchmoan 70cl 46°

Distillery : Loch Lomond / Country : Scotland / Reference: : 24400

Loch Lomond Inchmoan comes from the combination of two malts distilled respectively in a swan neck pot still and the other in a straight neck pot still. This association gives birth to a whisky with an unconventional peaty character, we find a beautiful depth where the smoky is married to the spices.

This whisky has aged for 12 years in American oak barrels and in ex-Bourbon barrels. It offers vanilla notes that complement the typical peaty peatiness of the Loch Lomond distillery. Bottled at 46°, it is non-chill-filtered.

Founded in 1965 in an old dyeing facility, Loch Lomond took over the name of its predecessor located on the other side of the Loch, in Arrochar, and which closed in 1817. As the Loch Lomond distillery closed in 1984, it could only reopen in 1985 as the Bulloch family bought it back to deal with shortages in their Glen Catrine company.

The distillery has the specificity, unique to Scotland, to produce malt whisky and grain whisky on the same site.

Nose: smoky peat, vanilla and black pepper.

Palate: grilled bacon notes before evolving aromas of roasted coffee, cloves and star anise.

Finish: long and generous, the finish evolves towards the fruit (lemon, currant).
