Alfred Giraud Heritage 70 cl 45.9°

Country : France / Reference: : 25356

This Alfred Giraud whisky, created to celebrate the heritage of this ancestral family of coopers and cellar masters, has benefited from ageing in exceptional barrels.

Made from three unpeated French malt distillates, it was aged in three types of barrels: a majority having contained old cognacs, new French oak barrels from the Limousin and new American oak barrels, to be finally refined in barrels having contained very old cognac until obtaining a perfect balance between the aromas.

Presented in a superb bottle, this exceptional whisky, both intense and elegant, reveals complex and balanced aromas.

A family house, driven by knowledge of cognac as well as the blending and ageing of whisky acquired over more than a century.

The history of the Giraud family begins with Louis Giraud, the first generation to set foot in the world of spirits since he worked during his career in the manufacture of barrels before joining a cognac house. It was by passing on his knowledge and experience to his son Alfred that he initiated this family legacy that will last more than 80 years.

Since then, generations have passed on, passing on their knowledge of whisky and their expertise in cognac to the next, until the creation of Alfred Giraud whisky by Jean-Pierre Giraud, 4th generation of the family, and his son Philippe.

Alfred Giraud whiskies are intended to be innovative, marked by a delicate balance between nature and creativity, carrying a know-how acquired over more than a century on cognac but also on blending and traditional whisky ageing methods.

Nose: complex and balanced, with aromas of buttered brioche, toasted malt and sweet spices.

Palate: delicate, with herbaceous and slightly woody flavours complemented by vanilla and nutmeg.

Finish: elegant and subtle, revealing gourmet notes brought by ageing in Cognac barrels.
