Intense yet elegant English single malt, Volar combines sherry and mountain wine casks for a fruity, spicy and complex profile.
The Lakes Volar is an original English single malt from The Whiskymaker’s Editions collection. Its name means “to fly” in Spanish and refers to the eagles soaring above the Cantabrian Mountains in northern Spain, which inspired the identity of this whisky.
Volar stands out for its carefully developed maturation, combining the influence of sherry casks with casks that previously held Spanish mountain wines. This combination gives the whisky depth while preserving a lively and elegant character.
At 52° ABV, Volar delivers generous intensity and considerable aromatic richness. Orchard fruits and red berry flavours are joined by dates, honeyed nuts, sandalwood and lingering spices. The overall profile moves between fruity indulgence, refined oak and freshness.
