Benriach 10 years old is a whisky from a combination of several types of barrels: Bourbon and Sherry of 1st filling, Bourbon of 2nd filling, new oak and Oloroso sherry casks.
The result of this blend is powerful and rich. It is a fresh and spicy Benriach. It is a reference Single Malt awarded on numerous occasions.
This whisky was bottled at 43% without cold filtration.
The BenRiach distillery has founded in 1897 by the Grant family, right next to the Longmorn distillery, but it stopped its activity in 1900 after the whisky crisis when the Pattison entreprise collapsed.
Its activity starts again in 1965. At that time it has supervised by Glenlivet Distillers Ltd. In 1983, with the traditional distillery, The BenRiach started distilling peated whisky. The launching of a peated whisky in the Speyside area is a revolution. This new shiky is made is malteddry barley and with peat.
