A Mortlach of beautiful intensity, well-structured, in its finest expression thanks to its ageing in virgin barrels.

Nicknamed "The Beast of Dufftown", Mortlach, a mysterious Speyside distillery, delivers a complex, robust and magnetic Single Malt, produced by distillation through six uniquely shaped stills: the result is an extraordinary spirit, born of science and alchemy, whose sublime aromas exacerbate the senses.

The nose opens with woody and fleshy aromas, slightly acidic. Spicy and tasty notes, including lime in particular, invade the palate to develop into a powerful spicy finish.

The Special Releases series from Maison Diageo is a set of limited edition bottlings. This highly coveted collection is recognized and appreciated. For its 2021 edition, Diageo has chosen 8 cask-strength Single Malt Scotch whiskies from rare and original casks.

Mortlach is a distillery located in Dufftown, Speyside, Scotland. It was created in 1823, the year when the first authorizations to distill were granted ("Law of the consumption tax").

This is the first distillery built in Dufftown, and there are now around ten. The distillery was purchased by Johnnie Walker in 1923. It now belongs to the Diageo group.

Throughout the Second World War, Mortlach was one of the few distilleries in Scotland able to produce whisky in limited quantities.

The distillery has the particularity of producing whisky with 2.8 distillations: 80% of the product is distilled three times, and the remaining 20% is distilled only twice.

The taste characteristic of Mortlach is its fleshy side, which is linked to the traditional flavour of Speyside

Nose: mellow and rounded, with woody aromas of freshly polished oak, heather or red currant jelly.

Palate: smooth, then notes of lime and pepper emerge.

Finish: long and powerful, marked by spices (vanilla, spicy oak and pepper).
