This vintage whisky 1997 has been specially selected in the cellars of the famous independent bottler Signatory Vintage and bottled for Le Comptoir Irlandais. Linkwood Sherry 1997 20 Years Old S.V. is a Single Cask bottled with only 323 bottles.
Founded in 1821, Linkwood began producing whisky from 1825. The distillery is located in Elgin in the Moray region of Speyside, Scotland. It participated in the development of many blends including the "Johnnie Walker" before being temporarily closed between 1985 and 1990.
This version distilled in 1997 was aged in a single cask number 10005 Sherry Hogshead, barrel with a capacity of 250 liters. The whisky has enjoyed a slow maturation for 20 years to acquire all its wealth. Single Cask was not cold unfiltered before bottling. Its titration was reduced from 57° in barrels to 46°. It has its natural colour.
It develops notes of citrus and pineapple marked by the wood of the barrel and the Sherry. It is remarkably long in the mouth.
