Mhoba Pot Stilled White 70cl 43°

Distillery : Mhoba / Country : South Africa / Reference: : 24481

This white rum is made from pure fresh cane juice. This juice comes from the endemic canes of the Nkomazi region and is cultivated at the Mhoba sugar estate in South Africa.

First, the sugar cane is cut and stripped by hand. The stems are then freshly squeezed to extract a pure and delicate juice for fermentation.

After double distillation in stills that the master distiller makes by hand, a smooth and versatile white rum is created: it is naturally sweet and irrevocably enhanced with notes of cane sugar.

It is in the agricultural town of Malelane, in eastern South Africa and in the middle of the estate's sugar cane fields, that the Mhoba artisanal distillery has established. The distillery makes rums out of fresh cane juice from the Nkomazi canes, a local variety with particularly intense aromas, that grow not far from the distillery.

Robert Greaves, the creator of the distillery, designed everything with his own hands, from the fermentation tank to the pot still including the press. Produced from pure sugar cane juice, Mhoba rum is an agricultural rum and corresponds to what is called pure rum, the equivalent of a malt whisky.

Thanks to a long fermentation and an original aging process in demijohn, the rums from this South African distillery are expressive and complex. A great success.

Nose: fresh and suave, this Mhoba White Rum delivers very beautiful aromas of fresh cane and cream, as well as fine minty scents.

Palate: creamy and herbaceous notes reinforce the freshness of its flavours, complemented by those of a generous sugar cane.

Final: the finish remains on fresh cane and cream and begins with fine saline hints.
