Glenmorangie The Cadboll Estate is a limited edition series that embodies the spirit and flavour of the famous Highland house, from field to bottle. Aged for 15 years, this new whisky in this series brings a nutty and spicy twist to the award-winning flavour.

Each release in this series begins with barley grown in the fields of the Cadboll Estate owned by the distillery and harvested to the specifications of Dr Bill, Glenmorangie's Creative Manager. Distilled in imposing copper stills, it gives birth to a unique spirit.

Dr. Bill has carefully selected a whisky with notes of nuts and sweet spices, aged in American oak Bourbon barrels to enrich its creamy texture. Some of this whisky has also been matured in ex-casks of Amontillado, Dr. Bill's favourite Sherry, adding nuances of hazelnut, caramel, and clove.

After 15 years, these whiskies are harmoniously brought together in the third batch of this series, offering notes of toffee, spice, honeysuckle, peach, and cream.

The Glenmorangie distillery operates with the tallest Pot Stills of Scotland (5.13m). This is the size of an adult giraffe!


These stills with spherical compartments (boil ball) play a decisive role in the crafting of the light and subtle Glenmorangie character. Only the lightest alcoholic vapours are collected. The spring waters used by the distillery are naturally filtered through limestone and impart Glenmorangie with its spicy character. The aged versions are increasingly powerful and develop delicate vanilla notes.


Glenmorangie is today an extraordinary pioneer in the art & science of oak cask maturation, and offers a spectacular choice of special finishes. Glenmorangie has a very strict policy and uses only first and second fill barrels, a process that magnifies the layers of flavours. The Glenmorangie distillate ages in ex-Bourbon, American white oak casks for at least 10 years. Glenmorangie collects a share from the ex-Bourbon casks and transfers it into casks that previously contained other alcohols or wines, thus extending the maturation: this is the “wood finish”. The use of casks that previously contained Sherry, Port, Madeira wines or Bourgogne wines maintains the essential balance of Glenmorangie whisky, while imparting intriguing characteristics to the spirit.


The art of cask maturation at Glenmorangie has been influenced by more than 25 years of research, enabling the Master Distiller to find the perfect casks for the Single Malts, and acquire the reputation of an expert amongst the circles of whisky maturation experts.

Colour: a magnificent deep ochre.

Nose: an aromatic and fragrant bouquet, revealing notes of honey, hazelnuts, tangerines and soft and sweet caramel. These aromas mingle delicately with nuances of ripening barley and cooked peaches. The addition of water releases a flinty minerality, as well as waves of honeysuckle flowers and jasmine.

Palate: a slightly spicy sensation in the mouth turns into an explosion of sweet and spicy flavours: heather honey, gingerbread, hazelnut praline, fudge, caramel and a subtle note of cloves. The hazelnuts from the Amontillado cask are still present, but harmoniously integrated with the other milder flavours. The lingering finish reveals hints of almond marzipan, coconut and suggests the delights of freshly baked fruit bread.

Finish: a creamy and spicy conclusion, where gingerbread, hazelnuts, and caramel linger with elegance.
