Iced tea, the recipe

We enjoy iced tea, but we don’t always know how to make it. It is an ideal drink that lends itself on many occasions, especially when it comes to cooling off during sunny days.

There is a recipe that is simple and quick enough to make your iced tea. It consists of making a full-bodied tea and pouring it on ice.

This method has two disadvantages:

It forces a heavy consumption of ice cubes and the tea, while cooling, gets cloudy (which is nevertheless a sign of good quality, it is said that the tea «cream»)

Another method is to put the brew prepared normally to cool in the refrigerator. But again, the tea becomes cloudy.

Finally, a third method recommends infusing the tea in cold water.

The principle is simple: take the same amount of water and tea as for a normal hot infusion, but let steep for 12 hours in the refrigerator. The advantage is that the infusion remains perfectly clear but it is therefore necessary to think ahead to the preparation of the tea.

To make one of these recipes, we advise you to have a natural tea and to add to the infusion pieces of fruit or to choose directly a flavored tea. Generally the most popular teas are those based on citrus or red fruits.
