Mustard and cheese scones recipe
A delicious recipe for mustard and cheese scones to serve with a tomato relish to surprise your guests during your Christmas aperitifs or all year round!

Ingredients (for 12 to 14 scones)
- 340g flour
 - 80g butter
 - 55g grated cheddar or emmental cheese
 - 125ml milk
 - 4 tbsp plain yoghurt
 - 2 tbsp whole-grain mustard
 - 1 tsp baking powder
 - 1 pinch of salt
 - Folláin Tomato Relish
 
Steps
- Preheat the oven at 200°C.
 - Grease a baking tray (or place baking paper on it).
 - Pour the flour and yeast into a large bowl, add the salt and butter and knead with your fingertips until crumbs form.
 - Mix the milk with the yoghurt and add to the flour-butter mixture. Add the mustard and grated cheese and mix until a soft dough forms.
 - Knead the dough on a floured surface and roll it out to a thickness of 3cm.
 - Cut out 12 to 14 rounds with a knife or cookie cutter and place them on the baking tray. Bake the scones for 12 to 15 minutes until they are golden brown.
 - Let cool on rack. Serve with tomato relish as desired.
