02/27/2019

To impress your guests at your next dinner, prepare beef with beer and mustard. This dish is delicious and easy to make!

IngredientsShopping list for 2 people:

At Le Comptoir Irlandais:

- 20 cl of stout Guinness beer

- 2 table spoons of Colman's mustard

And also:

- 2 pieces of beef

- 20 cl of whole liquid cream

- salt and pepper

- 1 onion

- oil or butter

Steps:

1 / Peel and finely chop the onion and brown the pieces.

2 / Take the 2 pieces of beef separately in a frying pan with butter or oil over high heat, about 45 seconds on each side for rare meat, then remove from heat.

3 / Add the beer, then the cream and bring to a boil. Reduce the sauce by half.

4 / Out of the heat, add the mustard and the golden onions, then mix well to bind the sauce.

5 / Season with salt and pepper and cook for 2 minutes over low heat.

6 / Serve the 2 pieces of beef on flat plates and drizzle with sauce.

Info: the cooking of the residual sugars contained in the beer brings a note of caramel to the flavour of the meat.

This recipe goes perfectly with homemade mashed potatoes!
