Calling all fans: 4 exceptional exclusive Glenfarclas not to be missed!
A legendary distillery
Glenfarclas, an independent Scottish distillery founded in 1836, has belonged to the Grant family since 1865. The distillery demonstrates an absolutely flawless consistency and respect for the history of whisky which undoubtedly places it among the best distilleries in all the time. A distillery expert in ageing in Oloroso Sherry barrels like few others, it produces a powerful, robust and complex distillate which goes perfectly with the aromatic strength that Oloroso brings.
4 exceptional and exclusive bottlings
We have the honour of having selected 4 barrels with this legendary distillery. We, through these bottlings, wanted to underline the strong link that we have had with the distillery for 30 years, to promote the character specific to all great Glenfarclas (marked by Oloroso, spicy, roasted notes, malty, powerful and complex) while shedding light on their exceptional mastery of ageing and especially the different nuances of the Glenfarclas and Oloroso character.
There is a clear common thread between the four barrels which each express their personality through nuances, shaped by ageing solely in the old Dunnages cellars (directly on clay) in the heart of Speyside. These 4 barrels were selected in September 2022 by our selection teams at Comptoir Irlandais. Cask 1148 was bottled immediately and is already on our shelves. The following 3 barrels deserved a few more months of ageing, hence this arrival in stores in the fall of 2023: you'll find Cask 1244 (2011), Cask 2951 (2011) and finally Cask 2617 (2012).
