Harmony collection
The Harmony collection is inspired by Macallan’s strong connection with nature for nearly 200 years. Each limited edition, which is released every year, highlights particular and innovative packaging, made from a material supposed to be at the end of its cycle and to which the distillery offers a second life. It combines cutting-edge techniques and end-of-life natural materials which are reborn with a renewed purpose.
Harmony I: celebrating the world of chocolate
For this first edition, Macallan continues its long-standing collaboration with the Roca brothers, and here with pastry chef Jordi Roca, by combining the worlds of chocolate and whisky to give birth to two exceptional whiskies: Rich Cacao, a Single malt very rich with intense notes of dark chocolate, and the Fine Cacao, with a profile more oriented towards milk chocolate. The boxes of these whiskies are 100% recyclable and have been made from cocoa husks, a natural product used in the cocoa manufacturing process.
Harmony II: homage to the world of coffee
This second edition takes us on a sensory journey through the wonderful world of coffee, thanks to the talent and know-how of five coffee experts. Steven Bremner, The Macallan Whisky Maker, has imagined two whiskies with very distinctive coffee notes, which are inspired by the Ethiopian Arabica coffee bean: the Intense Arabica, with flavours of oak, tiramisu and dark chocolate, and the Smooth Arabica, with softer notes of ground coffee, hazelnut and vanilla. A unique tasting experience that combines the worlds of coffee and whisky. This time, the packaging was made from the husks of coffee beans.
Harmony III: inspired by nature
The third and most recent edition of the Harmony collection was created in collaboration with the McCartney sisters, Stella and Mary, and pays homage to the fertile and lush lands of Scotland, where the daughters of Linda and Paul McCartney lived throughout their childhood. These two versions, Amber Meadow and Green Meadow, evoke the green and amber fields that surrounded their family farm in the Scottish countryside, and reflect the values shared by the two sisters and Macallan, namely love and respect for nature. Still with this aim of creating eco-responsible packaging, Macallan chose to use discarded meadow cuttings to design the boxes for this edition.
