Tropical
Tropical ageing is a key factor in the aromatic richness of rum. In the hot, humid climates of the Caribbean or Indian Ocean, the interaction between the wood in the barrel and the rum intensifies, accelerating maturation and developing deep, complex aromas.
Unlike spirits aged in temperate climates, a rum that spends 3 years in the tropics is equivalent to around 9 years in Europe. This rapid maturation is accompanied by significant evaporation (angel's share), concentrating flavors and bringing gourmet notes of vanilla, spices and candied fruit.
Thanks to this natural process, tropical ageing produces rums that are more expressive, intense and generous, making every sip an invitation to a sensory voyage.
