10 tea based cocktail recipes
Summer is coming! Get ready for the sun, the beach and the drinks with your friends! To help you to do so, we have concocted 10 cocktail recipes based on Whittard of Chelsea tea and infusion, with or without alcohol. The opportunity to discover our infusions to drop directly into cold water, for an iced drink quick to prepare in the cold brew style, a trend that will soon be found in all cups!
Mojitea
Ingredients (for 4 glasses):
- 20g Whittard of Chelsea Papaya & Lime instant tea
- 20 cl plain water
- 30 cl sparkling water
- 20 cl white rum
- 12 cl lime juice + a few slices for decoration
- mint leaves
- crushed ice
Steps :
1/ Infuse the tea in 5 cl of boiling water, stir, then add 15 cl of cold water.
2/ In a shaker, crush the mint leaves with a pestle.
3/ Add the lemon juice, crushed ice, rum, and shake.
4/ Pour into tall cocktail glasses, add the tea, then top up with sparkling water. Garnish with a few slices of lime.
Gin tea
Ingredients (for 2 glasses):
- 1 Whittard of Chelsea Blackcurrant & Blueberry teabag
- 15 cl plain water
- 25 cl sparkling water
- 8 cl gin
- Fruit of your choice: blackcurrants, blueberries, raspberries, strawberries...
Steps :
1/ Infuse the tea bag in cold water for 5-10 minutes.
2/ Pour the gin into cocktail glasses, top up with the infusion and sparkling water.
3/ Add the fruits and ice cubes.
5 shades of orange
Ingredients (for 2 glasses):
- 2 Whittard of Chelsea Passionfruit, Mango and Peach teabags
- 10 cl rum
- 25 cl orange juice
- 10 cl apricot nectar
- 1 teaspoon cane syrup
Steps :
1/ Infuse the tea bags in the rum then leave in the fridge for 4 hours.
2/ Remove the infused tea bags, then add the orange juice, apricot nectar and cane sugar.
3/ Mix and serve!
Cosmopolitea
Ingredients (for 2 glasses):
- 10 g Whittard of Chelsea Cranberry & Raspberry instant tea
- 15 cl water
- 6 cl vodka
- 3 cl triple sec (Cointreau, Grand Marnier, etc.)
- 3 cl lemon juice
- 3 cl cranberry juice
Steps :
1/ Infuse the tea in 5 cl of boiling water, mix, then add 10 cl of cold water. Allow to cool.
2/ Combine all the ingredients in a shaker, shake, then pour into cocktail glasses.
Christmas Manhattan
Ingredients (for 2 glasses):
- 2 g (1 teaspoon) Whittard of Chelsea Christmas tea
- 20 cl water
- 8 cl Bourbon
- 2 dashes Angostura Aromatic Bitters
- Orange zest
Steps :
1/ Infuse the Christmas tea in boiling water for 3 to 5 minutes, then allow to cool at room temperature.
2/ Pour 6cl of your tea-based preparation, 4cl of Bourbon and a dash of Angostura into each whisky glass.
3/ Stir gently then add a few ice cubes and the orange zest. It's ready !
Grapefruit fillip
Ingredients (for 2 glasses):
- 2 Whittard of Chelsea Pink Grapefruit teabags
- 40 cl water
- 1 grapefruit
- 3 teaspoons liquid honey
- Lemon zest
- A few mint leaves
Steps :
1/ Infuse the tea bags in cold water for 5 to 10 minutes.
2/ Add the honey and the lemon zest.
3/ Squeeze the grapefruit and mix it with the infusion.
4/ Add ice cubes and garnish with a few mint leaves.
Exotic iced tea
Ingredients (for 4 glasses):
- 2 Whittard of Chelsea Lemon & Ginger teabags
- 1 litre water
- 1 vanilla pod
- 1 tablespoon cane sugar
- ½ pineapple
Steps :
1/ Infuse the tea bags in boiling water for 5 minutes.
2/ Allow to cool at room temperature then add the vanilla pod, the cane sugar and the pineapple cut into cubes.
3/ Place in the refrigerator for 30 minutes and serve over ice cubes.
Summer vibes
Ingredients (for 4 glasses):
- 2 Whittard of Chelsea Watermelon, Strawberry & Lime teabags
- 1 litre water
- 1 lemon
- 1 lime
- 1 small bunch of fresh basil
- 150 g fresh strawberries
Steps :
1/ Infuse the tea bags in cold water for 5 to 10 minutes.
2/ Add the thinly sliced lemons, the basil and the strawberries cut into pieces.
3/ Place in the refrigerator for 30 minutes and serve over ice cubes.
Mango milk tea
Ingredients (for 2 glasses):
- 20 g Whittard of Chelsea Mango & Passionfruit instant tea
- 20 cl water
- 20 cl cow or vegetable milk
- 1 tablespoon agave syrup
- 1 mango
Steps :
1/ Infuse the tea in 5 cl of boiling water, stir, then add 15 cl of cold water.
2/ Add the milk and the agave syrup, top up with the mango cut into pieces.
La vie en rose
Ingredients (for 2 glasses):
- 2 Whittard of Chelsea English rose tea bags
- 40 cl water
- 4 raspberries
- 2 slices cucumber
- 4 cl fresh lime juice
- 4 cl elderflower syrup
Steps :
1/ Infuse the tea in boiling water for 3 to 5 minutes, then allow to cool at room temperature.
2/ Crush the fresh raspberries and cucumber slices using a pestle.
3/ Add the lime juice, elderflower syrup and cooled tea.
4/ Pour into a shaker with ice cubes, shake and serve!
