Only 15 miles away from the Edinburgh Castle and the Scottish capital, the peaceful landscapes of barley fields in which sits the Glenkinchie Distillery look heavenly.

Glenkichie boasts of producing the “Edinburgh malt”. In 1825, two Lowlands farmers, George and John Rate, built a distillery they called Milton. In 1837, they renamed it and gave it the name of the stream still flowing today for the distillery: the “Kinchie”. Glenkinchie is today one of the few remaining distilleries still operating in the Lowlands. It is the only Scottish distillery to be managed by a woman, Kay Fleming. Its whisky owes its lightness of character to ones of the widest stills of Scotland. The unique character of Glenkinchie ranks the distillery in the Classic Malts Selection. Created more than 20 years ago, this selection recognises Single Malts crafted in the tradition of iconic distilleries, and offers the most impressive whisky styles Scotland has to offer.
