For this 4th series of Diageo Special Release, the Cardhu distillery offers a magnificent Single Malt with a lot of richness and power.

In 2022, Cardhu dresses in tropical colours with a finish in Jamaican rum barrels. This 16 year old whisky develops a beautiful tropical sweetness. The golden color rivals the smooth texture, while heady sweet aromas of pink grapefruit and ripe mango fill the nose. On the palate, the sweet taste of rum caramel offers dry and exotic notes of spicy pineapple and green banana, bursting with lush aromas.

Legend has it that one day the ancient black rock on which Cardhu sits split open during an earthquake, causing heat to rise from the bowels of the earth, releasing a tropical paradise. Lush aromas of passion flower and pineapple danced through the distillery and its grounds, enveloping everything it touched in a rare and exotic quality. At midnight, the chasm closed, silent again forever. Only the whiskey distilled that day remained to tell this story.
