The distillery has been built in 1816 on the South-East coast of Islay, not far from the ruins of Dunyvaig castle, the old fortress of the Lord of the Isles. Lagavulin produces a Single Malt almost as legendary as the island where it was born.

Among all the Islay malts, renowned for their peaty and smoky character, Lagavulin stands out for its depth and complexity: powerful and intensely peaty, it is also rich and round, almost mellow in the mouth. It is this double personality that makes it possible to better understand the exceptional "strength cask" versions offered by the distillery. The unique character and quality of Lagavulin whiskies allows the distillery to be part of the Classic Malts Selection. Created more than 20 years ago, the latter combines Single Malts, from the know-how of emblematic distilleries, to offer you the essentials of the great terroirs of Scotland.

Made in the birthplace of distilling, this iconic Islay malt is intense and smoky, steeped in history and tradition for over two hundred years.

Nose: Sweet; campfire, wood ashes. Medicinal and fruity notes.

Palate : Pleasant, unctuous texture that soon becomes dry, with a touch of salt and intense smokiness.

Finish: Long and powerful, marked by warm spices that linger in the aftertaste.
