Mount Gay Port Cask Expression Rum is a rum from Barbados. It is made from a blend of rum aged in Port casks for 5 years and rum aged in American whisky casks for 14 years and matured in Port casks for 1 year.
A soft and fruity rum emerges, with aromas of vanilla, caramel and dried fruits on the nose.
On the palate, notes of cherries develop and blend with raisins, prunes and woody spices as well as marzipan that persist on the finish.
Non-chill filtered and bottled in its natural colour.

From 1703 onwards, rum was distilled on Barbados, in the Caribbean. This new drink was named the “kill-devil”.
Sir John Gay was a respected businessman who worked for a greater Barbados. One of his friends, John Sober, inherited a distillery and sought advice from John Gay. The latter became manager of the distillery, refining the distillation process and starting to produce rum of better quality than others on the island.
Mount Gay Rum continued the 300 years of tradition and knowledge.
