Mount Gay The Port Cask Expression 70cl 55°
The Master Blender Trudiann Branker used a blend of rums distilled in a traditional column aged for 5 years in Porto Tawny barrels, as well as double distilled rums in a copper still aged for 14 years in American whiskey barrels and finished in Tawny Port barrels for 1 year.
The result is a rich blend with notes of vanilla, caramel and almond on the nose and cherry, dried fruits, oak, prune and almond on the palate.
Bottled cask raw (55% abv), The Port Cask Expression is non chill-filtered to preserve its rich aromas and natural colour.

From 1703 onwards, rum was distilled on Barbados, in the Caribbean. This new drink was named the “kill-devil”.
Sir John Gay was a respected businessman who worked for a greater Barbados. One of his friends, John Sober, inherited a distillery and sought advice from John Gay. The latter became manager of the distillery, refining the distillation process and starting to produce rum of better quality than others on the island.
Mount Gay Rum continued the 300 years of tradition and knowledge.
