Caroni 2000 Paradise n°5 Cask 4053 70cl 68.5°
Picture a rum that captures the raw, enigmatic soul of Trinidad — that is the Caroni 2000 Paradise #5. Aged nearly twenty years under tropical heat, it unfurls a daring aromatic spectrum: hints of tar, heated rubber, engine oil interwoven with ripe tropical fruits, burnt caramel, soft spices, and an ashy smoke touch. Every sip is dense, oily, fascinating, and coursed with a dark elegance. This is a collector’s gem, a rare sensory journey, for connoisseurs bold enough to embrace extremes.

Founded in 1918 in the heart of Trinidad and Tobago, the Caroni distillery has long been a flagship of local rum production. With its own sugar mill and supply of molasses, it developed an instantly recognizable style: dense, powerful rums with hints of molasses, spices, and sometimes tar or rubber, earning it a reputation as an inimitable “heavy rum.”
The distillery closed its doors in 2002, leaving behind limited stocks of barrels. These barrels, bought up and bottled in small quantities, have now become collector's items sought after by enthusiasts and aficionados around the world. Caroni is no more, but its legacy lives on through these rare bottles, where each sip tells a part of the history of Trinidad and Tobago and Caribbean rum.
Caroni 1994 Paradise n°3: rare rum, notes of flambéed banana, caramel, prune, tar, woody spices. A collector's treasure.
