Scones still warm, just like in Ireland
For a brunch worthy of an Irish tea room, make delicious scones with ease using our scone mix / Preheat the oven to 200°C. 2/ Pour 200ml of water into a bowl and add the scone mix. Mix everything together with a wooden spoon until you have a smooth dough. 3/ Dust your work surface with flour and place the dough on it. Knead gently. Dust the dough with flour and press it out until it is 2.5cm thick. Use a knife or a cup to cut out the scones. Repeat this to make 6 scones. 4/ Place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper and bake for 15–20 minutes until golden brown. 5/ Leave to cool on a wire rack. 6/ Serve the scones with clotted cream and jam.
It only takes a few minutes to make soft, golden scones. Once out of the oven, split them open whilst they’re still warm and top them with: • Folláin fruit spreads (strawberry, raspberry, orange, blackberry…), • butter, • or clotted cream for an even more traditional version. Served with a cup of tea or coffee, they’ll be a hit with young and old alike.
