Founded in 1965 in an old dyeing facility, Loch Lomond took over the name of its predecessor located on the other side of the Loch, in Arrochar, and which closed in 1817. As the Loch Lomond distillery closed in 1984, it could only reopen in 1985 as the Bulloch family bought it back to deal with shortages in their Glen Catrine company.

The distillery has the specificity, unique to Scotland, to produce malt whisky and grain whisky on the same site.

Colour: gold.

Nose: the first impression: a deep leather perfum associated with the heathers of the Highlands. Then progressively emerges smooth malty scents and woody aromas. With a slice of water, it becomes lighter and bloomier.

Palate: matly notes dominate with the softness of the grain giving a cremier texture on the palate. Uncovering chestnut notes, Bresil's nuts and tart citruses in the background. With a little bit of water, spices settle in. Slightly peppery with ginger and liquorice, the tasting pursuits on a mellow structure where malt's sweetness gets in touch with green apple and matured pineapple.

Finish: very smooth, it continues on dark sirup with a zest of citruses.
