Baron Otard

First intended to protect against the invasions of the English and the Vikings in the 11th century, the castle was then used in the 15th century as a stately home and saw the birth of one of the most illustrious kings of France, François I.

Baron Otard, who acquired the castle in 1795, was won over by the thickness of its walls and its many rooms, which provided an exceptional environment, ideal for ageing his eaux-de-vie. More than two centuries later, the legacy of Baron Otard still benefits from this setting and these unique conditions.
