Secret Orkney 14 ans 2008 Signatory Vintage 70cl 63.5°
This whisky comes to us from Orkney where only 2 distilleries produce magnificent, highly sought-after distillates: Scapa and Highland Park.
Highland Park is considered the most northerly of Scotland's distilleries. The barley is malted on site, which is rare in the world of Scottish whisky today. The distillery produces whiskies characterized by sweetness and an aromatic, floral and generous peat.
Here we find a typical distillate marked by a herbaceous freshness mixed with the island's sea spray and notes of heather and honey. Also present, a hint of peat signed Highland Park which harmonizes in tasting with the ageing in ex-Bourbon barrels.
Distilled in 2009 and bottled in October 2023 at 302 bottles at its natural strength.
Non chill-filtered, cask strength, no colouring.
Like its Speyside cousin, this whisky requires aeration to achieve its full aromatic power.
